The Château's interiors offer sophisticated refinement having been restored to their former 18th Century glory and they are furnished with beautiful European and Oriental antique furniture and art.The Château enjoys three Reception rooms, a Library, a large formal Dining room (which seats up to 18 persons), and an informal large, combined Dining room and Kitchen. The Château's charming, internal Courtyard with its fountains,aviaries and its jasmine covered walls can also be used for al fresco dining.
It has three large master bedroom suites, - with one king and two queen sized beds, and with one suite on the ground floor and two on the first floor. Each suite has an ensuite bathroom and a separate shower stall. There are a further six bedrooms (with one king, two queen and two double sized beds and one with twin beds) on the second floor, each of which has its own ensuite bathroom (with showers in each bath) and all of which are tiled with lovely Provençal tiles.

The adjacent Farm building has been fully modernised and converted into, inter alia, guest bedrooms, guest facilities, the Conference and Business Centre and certain sports facilities. The accommodation consists of the Masion Rose, which has one bedroom with a king sized bed, and either one suite with one twin-bedded room and a salon with a convertible sofa, or two twin-bedded rooms.
The Maison Jaune, which has one king, one queen and one twin-bedded room and a separate Courtyard level bedroom with a king sized bed.All these seven bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms with baths and separate shower stalls.

About Your Hosts

The present owners bought the Château in September, 1984. They then spent six years in restoring the Château to its original XVIII century state by using either XVIII century building materials, flooring and wood paneling or perfect reproductions where XVIII century materials were unavailable.At the same time, the Estate's parks, communicating streams, moat and gardens were all restored and replanted to produce a harmonious whole. In February 2000 the owners restored the adjacent Farm building to provide further bedrooms, an extra dining room and kitchen and a fully equipped Conference and Business Centre.

Out and About

Should you feel you can bear to leave the glorious grounds of Château de Tourreau, there are a wealth of diversions just waiting outside the gates. The calm river waters of Fontaine de Vaucluse are a perfect location for trout fishing. Or guests can gently canoe down the river, absorbing the peaceful scenery, and have a picnic, prepared by the Chef, amongst the vineyards and orchards on the bankside. Cross-country riding, hiking, cycling and skiing on Mont Ventoux can be arranged, as can a round of golf on one of the several nearby courses. Explore famous vineyards such as Chateauneuf du Pape, Vacqueyras, Gigondas and more.
Then there is Avignon well known for its Summer Arts Festival of films, theatre and street performers held all over this famous old "papal" city.
There are all kinds of wonderful ruins, ancient villages, monuments, museums, dozens of medieval villages and towns and unchanged countryside to see and explore.
